Hello from the cornfields of NW Indiana! My name is Abby and I am excited for you to join me on this journey!
I have had a heart for other people for as long as I can remember. When I was nine years old, my parents began the process of adoption. Time and time again I saw pictures of children who were in desperate need of families, and it broke my heart. This was ultimately what opened my eyes to the needs of other people around me and what led me to overseas missions.
Today, I am the proud oldest of five siblings and I am so thankful for them and everything God taught me through the process.
Three years ago, I went on my very first mission trip to Haiti. I fell in love with the people and the country and my desire to serve other people only intensified. God broke my heart under the sweltering Haitian sun and my life just wasn’t the same after that.
Since my first mission trip to Haiti, I have been blessed with a second Haiti trip, a Kenya mission trip, and a mission trip to the Bahamas.
Which is what brings me to the Race! I am excited to explore different missions opportunities that I can possibly be involved in full time after I graduate high school. When I was ten years old I told my parents that after I graduated high school I was going to move away and be a missionary. I am so humbled that God would actually give me that opportunity.
Aside from anything missions related, I enjoy reading, writing, playing games, spending time with friends/family, and going to church. I also enjoy listening to music and going on adventures!
Like I said before, I am super excited to share this journey with all of you and I am so excited to experience God in a whole new way this coming year.
